It's my fathom that iam young and yet I stand among my elders and Dare shout of the truths of life which we have been made to accept can only be spoken by the ones advanced in age. That experience is what makes a man wise and you can not be experienced unless you are old. But this couldn't be further from truth.
I believe strongly that knowledge is acquired and wisdom is attained by those who question the beliefs of the old and light a path to their own Independent truths with respect to the old, it would be foolhardy to ignore the history (old) as you venture into the future.
To bring the essence of this blog home:iam young but I can proudly thump my chest and say iam experienced in the sociopolitical endeavours of man than most of my peers and those even older than me coz I have always strived to acquire knowledge so as to attain wisdom.
What has become so clear to me in my young life,is that there is nothing new under the sun, if you look hard enough you find it. In books or in the opinions of others or in their own lived experiences...So what happens is;you take their own lived experience and make it your own life lesson thus gaining the "passive wisdom".Its not easy but men we are made to toil and gnaw, its predisposed in you,so have a dance.
And it's funny when I got curious about philosophy(ethics, logics, metaphysics aesthetics, epistemology and psychology) I didn't quite understand it at all, but as I read more and more and asked questions things I read earlier (way back) started making sense later and it started feeling a jigsaw puzzle.
But you cant be philosophical without being patient, you got to sit and observe, listen and ask questions then over time you'll find yourself full of knowledge, which you can now convert to wisdom by forming your own independent ideas thoughts while respecting and appreciating the source of the knowledge. Could be a teacher, your religious teachings or a wide range of writers from books to podcasts or websites Socrates a great skeptic on the philosophical approach of the eleatic sects.... Believed in forming your own philosophical expressions without damning the philosophical expressions of other philosophers. He believed in questioning everything with a sober mind with only the Intent of gaining other perspectives or points of view.
Personally I think that's how we should live as men, with convictions and respect of the past without belittling others in terms of their age instead we should listen and learn from both the old and the young. Coz whether we like it or not we are living in a first moving world where knowledge is easy to acquire and the smart ones are converting it into wisdom twice as first
But as I said earlier you got to be patient, for philosophy is a science of everything worldly and spiritual. That's a complexity that's not understood by simply reading and contemplating. You got to be patient with philosophy... It takes a lived experience (time) for everything read to make sense.
For instance, you could never really understand who or what A SIMP is, without knowing what it means (through reading) then meetings real life example (experience) or becoming a simp yourself (lived experience). Now you are full circle. Sometimes this process may take you, your whole life or it may take just short time...
Truth is we experience knowledge &wisdom at different times and its not age that determines (all) wisdom. So make it your life's mission to strive to gain both; its not easy but you've got to, if you want to matter.
